ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

The Communications & Engagement Coordinator will coordinate and deliver internal communications and employee engagement activity across the London Heathrow PRS (LHR PRS) contract, supporting the successful delivery of the wider PRS programme and transformation agenda.

Working closely with the Senior Communications Business Partner, LHR PRS leadership, HR Business Partner, Talent & Engagement and other specialist People teams, the role will translate business and People priorities into clear, engaging and accessible communications and engagement activity for colleagues across PRS.

A key focus of the role will be creating and coordinating high-quality communications and campaigns that keep colleagues informed, connected and engaged. With a large frontline workforce who do not have regular access to email, the role will develop creative approaches to communication, using a range of channels including manager and pre-shift briefings, newsletters, visual and digital content, short-form video, QR-enabled materials, campaigns and engagement events.

The role will coordinate communications and engagement supporting key PRS priorities including digital and technology transformation, innovation, social value, learning and training, leadership development, culture, recognition, wellbeing and employee experience. It will also coordinate employee listening activity and support managers with practical communications materials and tools to help them engage their teams effectively.

The role will provide coordination support across the PRS People Plan and wider transformation programme where required, helping to maintain visibility of key activities and milestones and ensuring communications and engagement activity is effectively planned and delivered.

The Communications & Engagement Coordinator will work within the wider Heathrow communications strategy and governance, partnering closely with the Senior Communications Business Partner to ensure PRS activity is aligned, consistent and complementary to wider account communications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and deliver the LHR PRS communications and engagement plan, ensuring activity supports PRS business, People and transformation priorities.
  • Develop engaging day-to-day communications and campaigns, including newsletters, manager and pre-shift briefings, presentations, posters, toolkits and programme updates.
  • Create accessible and creative content for the PRS frontline workforce, using a range of physical and digital channels including visual content, short-form video and QR-enabled materials.
  • Coordinate communications and engagement supporting PRS transformation initiatives, including digital, technology, innovation, social value, learning, leadership and culture.
  • Coordinate the LHR PRS employee engagement programme, supporting engagement, recognition, wellbeing, culture and employee experience initiatives.
  • Coordinate employee listening activity, including surveys, pulse surveys, focus groups and listening sessions, collating feedback and identifying key themes and trends.
  • Support the development and communication of actions arising from employee feedback, including visible “you said, we did” activity.
  • Support managers to communicate and engage effectively with their teams, providing practical briefings, talking points, toolkits and other communications materials.
  • Coordinate communications supporting the deployment of learning, leadership, management and operational training programmes, working closely with Talent & Engagement and specialist teams.
  • Identify and develop content that showcases PRS people, achievements, innovation and social value activity for use across appropriate communications channels.
  • Work closely with the Senior Communications Business Partner to ensure PRS communications align with wider account communications strategy, standards and governance, referring strategic, external, client-facing or reputational communications as appropriate.
  • Monitor communications and engagement activity, collating data and feedback to understand reach, participation and effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
