Join our team at The Barn, Ringwood, a leading performance and events venue on the edge of the New Forest.

The Barn is a purpose-built, multi-use performance and events space at Ringwood School. Used throughout the year by the school and many external users, our venue features a 600 capacity auditorium, cinema grade AV system, moveable lighting rig and industry leading NEXO house PA system.

About you

We are looking for someone with proven experience of working in a live events venue and a strong understanding of professional AV, sound and lighting systems. You will be super organised, detail-focused and confident in managing all technical requirements for events and arranging schedules. Just as importantly you will be friendly, professional and able to welcome new users and support staff, Ringwood School students and external clients during their visit to us.

Our Technician will be the primary technical contact for all incoming users and focus on overseeing production technical operations, including the hiring of equipment, organisation of casual staff and communication throughout the process.

Experience with industry leading equipment, particularly Allen & Heath (dLive), Nexo, Dante, ChamSys, Chauvet Professional and Robe is essential. We need a good all-rounder with knowledge in all areas of technical theatre including rigging, stage building, set construction and AV systems.

Due to the nature of this role we need someone who is fit, healthy and able to undertake strenuous lifting safely using lifting aids where required. Our stage is modular and is reconfigured very frequently.

IPAF 3a and 3b is essential for this role, although fully training and accreditation will be provided to the succesful applicant.

This annualised hours contract and requires a large level of flexibility to include very regular evenings and weekends throughout the year, although due the the space being used for school exams, there are times of downtime too.

Salary will be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments regardless of the number of hours worked.

Pay: £28,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
