Role: Lecturer (Sports Science)

Location: Central London Campuses: Holborn, Fitzrovia.

Salary: Up to £48,000 per annum subject to skills and experience

Start Date: September 2026

The Role

As a Lecturer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering engaging teaching across a range of sport modules. You'll support students on campus, contribute to assessment and quality assurance, and be involved in scholarship and continuous curriculum improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials in line with curriculum standards
  • Develop and update teaching materials and maintain digital learning platforms
  • Set, assess, and provide feedback on student assignments and exams
  • Support students academically and pastorally, including those with learning support needs
  • Engage with quality assurance processes, contribute to module and programme evaluations
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
  • Lead modules and coordinate with associate lecturers where applicable

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant Sports -related field
  • Experience teaching in Higher Education, with strong digital teaching capability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of HE quality assurance and validation processes
  • A flexible, student-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification (if not already held)

Desirable:

  • PhD (or near completion) or equivalent industry experience
  • Research or enterprise activity involvement
  • Teaching qualification (FHEA, SHEA, PGCAP, AHEA)
  • Experience leading modules or academic teams
