Photography Department – Ross’s Auctioneers & Valuers (Belfast City Centre)

Job Description:

Ross’s, a well-established Belfast city centre firm of Auctioneers & Valuers, holds monthly Jewellery, Fine Art and Antique auctions, shipping to clients worldwide.

Due to continued growth and high demand within our Photography Department, We are seeking a dynamic and creative Photography & Content Specialist to join our team.

This is a creative and dynamic role, with full training provided.

This role involves capturing high-quality images and managing visual content. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and proficiency in digital editing tools. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in both photography and digital marketing within a collaborative environment.

The start date for this role will be as soon as possible.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Photographing Jewellery, Fine Art and Antiques to a high professional standard
  • Producing creative advertising images across all three departments
  • Supporting the visual presentation of auction catalogues and digital platforms

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable insight and hands-on experience across all aspects of a busy auction department.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct professional photography sessions to produce compelling visual content aligned with brand standards
  • Each month, as a team, we photograph around 2000 pieces for our monthly auctions
  • Edit and enhance images using Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom to ensure high-quality output for various platforms
  • Coordinate with the management team on project timelines, deliverables, and creative direction

Skills

  • Strong management and organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects efficiently
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Lightroom.
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Experience in project management and team collaboration
  • Excellent time management skills
  • IT proficiency across various platforms
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Essential Criteria

  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite is essential
  • A University Degree - preferably in the creative sector
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently and prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A willingness to learn and support colleagues
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Working Hours & Location

Please note this position is fully on-site in Belfast city centre, Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.15pm.
