HSEQ Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSEQ Manager to join our team and lead the development and implementation of best-in-class HSEQ practices.

About Poole Harbour Commissioners

Poole Harbour Commissioners (PHC) is a leading trust port responsible for the safe and sustainable management of one of the UK’s largest natural harbours. With a strong focus on environmental stewardship, safety, and operational excellence, PHC plays a key role in supporting marine, commercial, and leisure activity across the region.

The role

As our HSEQ Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping and maintaining a strong safety culture, within a port environment, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards. You’ll collaborate across departments, influence leadership, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for

· Proven experience as a HSEQ professional with a strong track record of leading Health & Safety in complex, operational environments.

· Someone who can build a positive, engaged safety culture, influencing people at every level from frontline teams to the Board.

· A confident communicator and collaborative leader who can provide both practical support and constructive challenge.

· Experienced in using data, audits, investigations and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards of compliance.

· Qualified to degree level or equivalent, with a professional Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma (essential) or equivalent, and a full driving licence.

· Additional qualifications such as DGSA, Internal Auditor, Radiation Protection Supervisor, Appointed Person for Lifting, Fire Safety Officer or First Aider would be advantageous.

What We Offer

· Salary range: £50-55k depending on experience

· 25 days holiday together with the usual public/bank holidays

· This is a full-time role, however, as the Port of Poole is open for 7 days per week, you will be expected to be available outside of these normal working hours in the event of a safety emergency

· Discretionary, non-contractual bonus scheme

· Death in service benefit

· Free parking
