Experienced Groundworker

Kennford Tarmacadam Ltd is a family-owned and operated business and one of the leading highway maintenance contractors in Devon. We are looking for an experienced groundworker to join our growing team working on civil engineering projects across Devon.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and reliable operative who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and wants to develop their career within a supportive and professional team. Transport will be provided.

Job Type

  • Full-time Employee (PAYE)
  • Permanent

Pay

  • From £16.80 per hour
  • Guaranteed 10 hours pay per day
  • Weekly Pay
  • Overtime available
  • Night shifts paid at enhanced rates

Location

  • All work located within Devon
  • No long-distance working away from home

Responsibilities

You will be involved in all aspects of groundwork and civil engineering, including:

Installing Drainage

Laying Kerbs

Earthworks

Culvert Construction

Stream Diversion & Flood Prevention

Traffic Light NAL Installation

Concreting

Operating Plant

Removal and Installation of new road signs

Essential Requirements

  • Blue Skilled Worker CSCS Card (preferred)
  • Previous groundwork experience
  • Good understanding of safe working practices on highways and construction sites
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions

Desirable Skills

  • Experience operating additional plant and machinery
  • NPORS plant qualifications
  • Street Works (NRSWA) qualifications
  • Experience within highway maintenance projects
