Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pot Washer/Cleaner to join our team in a busy hospitality environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area, ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitised. Also to sweep/hoover and mop the restaurant floors and clean the toilet areas and mirrors. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team, supporting food preparation and service operations. Prior experience in food service, restaurant, hotel, or culinary settings is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The position is fully paid and suitable for individuals committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently wash and sanitise dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment using appropriate methods.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by regularly cleaning work surfaces, sinks, and storage areas.
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen staff.
  • Ensure all items are stored correctly after cleaning to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to uphold hygiene standards within the kitchen environment.
  • Support the team during busy periods by helping with general cleaning duties around the premises.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.

Skills

  • Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments such as restaurants or hotels is desirable.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures and hygiene standards in a commercial kitchen setting.
