Science Technician - Full-Time | Merton

Are you an experienced Science Technician looking for an exciting new opportunity in a supportive and thriving school environment?

A fantastic school in Merton is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Technician to join their team on a full-time, 5-day-per-week basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician with a strong understanding of science to play a key role in supporting practical lessons and helping students engage with science in an inspiring environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up practical experiments and demonstrations for science lessons.
  • Maintain, organise and manage laboratory equipment, resources and chemicals.
  • Support teaching staff and students during practical activities.
  • Ensure laboratories are maintained to high standards of health and safety.
  • Monitor stock levels and order equipment and consumables as required.
  • Assist with the smooth and effective day-to-day running of the science department.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working as a Science Technician, ideally within a school or educational setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a good understanding of practical science.
  • A relevant degree is preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive, reliable and enthusiastic approach to supporting students and staff.
