Full job description

About the role

Eleven Bibury is bringing its marketing in-house, and we are looking for the person who will run it.

We are a destination in one of the most photographed villages in England. We have a cafe and terrace, a gallery selling original work by the artists we represent, an online shop, exhibitions and events. Almost none of it is being told properly online. That is the job.

This is a hands-on role, not a desk job and not a management one. You will not be briefing an agency or managing a team. You will be on site with your phone, shooting the bread coming out of the oven, the light in the gallery, the artist hanging their own show, and getting it out the same day. You will run our channels, our email list and our gallery shop website yourself.

If you are the person your friends ask to take the photo, and you already understand why one post lands and another does not, we want to hear from you.

What you will be doing

Social media and content

  • Own our social channels day to day, including planning, posting and scheduling.
  • Shoot and edit photography and video on site, mostly on your phone.
  • Build a content calendar around what is actually happening: new menus, exhibitions, new stock, events, seasons.
  • Reply to comments and messages, and build a real relationship with the people who follow us.
  • Grow our following and, more importantly, turn it into visits and sales.
  • Keep an eye on what is working, and tell us plainly what is not.

Gallery shop website

  • Run the gallery's Shopify site day to day.
  • Photograph products and write listings that sell them.
  • Keep pricing, descriptions and stock availability accurate.
  • Add new artists and new stock as it arrives.
  • Work with the Gallery Manager so the website and the shop floor tell the same story.

Email and customer database

  • Write and send Eleven's newsletter.
  • Grow and look after the customer database.
  • Build campaigns around exhibitions, events and the seasons.
  • Track what people open, click and buy.

Press, influencers and events

  • Handle local and regional press, and build those relationships.
  • Manage influencer and content creator visits from first approach to what goes live.
  • Promote exhibitions, private views and events, and cover them on the day.
  • Be there at the events themselves, camera in hand.

Working across the business

  • Depending on the hours you work, spend some of your time helping front of house.
  • Understand the business from the floor up, because the best content comes from being in it.

What we are looking for

  • Someone genuinely immersed in social media, who understands Instagram and TikTok as a user first and a marketer second.
  • Evidence you can do it. A personal account, a side project, a previous employer's channels, a portfolio. We care about what you have made, not where you studied.
  • Confidence shooting and editing photo and video on a phone, with a good eye for composition and light.
  • Writing that sounds like a person, not a brand.
  • Comfort with Shopify, or the ability to learn it quickly.
  • Organised and self-directed. You will be setting your own week.
  • An interest in food, art and design, and in a small business finding its voice.
  • A full driving licence and your own transport, as public transport to Bibury is limited.

Marketing experience is welcome. A marketing degree is not required. If you can show us work you are proud of, apply.

What we offer

  • £26,000 to £32,000 per year pro rata, depending on experience.
  • Full time or part time, with flexibility on the pattern.
  • 28 days holiday including bank holidays, pro rata.
  • Workplace pension.
  • Staff discount.
  • Real ownership. This is our marketing, and it will be yours to run.

How to apply

Apply through Indeed with your CV and links to any accounts, content or work you have made. The links matter more to us than the covering letter.

Pay: £26,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
