Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile General Assistant to support our hospitality, housekeeping and food service operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily functions, delivering excellent guest services, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience across various aspects of the hospitality industry, including food preparation, customer service, and operational support. The role is paid and suitable for individuals eager to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.

Duties

  • Assist with food preparation at breakfast and meal assembly to meet quality standards.
  • Serve guests courteously, ensuring a positive dining experience through excellent guest services.
  • Handle delivery duties as required, including transporting supplies or meals within the premises or to external locations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, including kitchens, dining spaces, and storage areas and rooms
  • Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Take orders via phone or in person, demonstrating professional phone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Assist with setting up dining areas for service or events, ensuring presentation standards are met.
  • Support other team members with general tasks such as stock replenishment and equipment cleaning.

Skills

  • Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or food preparation is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with food safety procedures and hygiene standards.
  • Experience as a delivery driver or in courier roles is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations preferred.
  • Customer service skills with an emphasis on friendly communication and guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills for maintaining cleanliness and stock levels.
