Full job description

Business Management Degree Apprentice | Another Place, The Lake

Earn while you learn with a fully funded degree, paid study time, practical management experience, and the opportunity to build a rewarding career in business management.

Looking to further your education while gaining valuable hands-on experience?

Our structured Degree Apprenticeship combines practical hospitality experience with professional development, helping you build valuable skills while gaining real-world experience.

Based at Another Place, The Lake, you'll be part of a supportive team, develop your potential, and help create exceptional guest experiences in a spectacular lakeside setting.

Our opportunity:

We’re looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to enrol on our Degree Apprenticeship Programme.

You'll combine your role at the hotel with a dedicated, paid day of study at the Ambleside campus of the University of Cumbria. During university breaks, you'll also work full-time hours, gaining valuable experience across the hotel.

Our programme is a three-year commitment and offers a unique opportunity to gain a degree while building valuable industry experience.

As our final intake for the programme, this is a unique opportunity to earn while you learn and kick-start your career in business management. All tuition fees are covered by Another Place and government funding, providing an alternative path to university.

Your qualification:

Our Degree Apprenticeship combines a Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA) with hands-on experience across the hotel, allowing you to develop management expertise while learning in a real working environment.

Throughout your three-year programme, you'll work across multiple departments, gaining a broad understanding of the business and developing the skills needed to progress into future supervisory and management roles.

We anticipate a mid-August start date at the hotel, with a university induction scheduled for 27 August. Interviews will take place during the weeks commencing 29 June and 6 July.

Essential requirements:

Entry to our programme requires evidence of successful study at Level 3, A-Level, or equivalent. English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE grade 4/C or above) are also required.

You must have left full-time education before the start of the programme, be at least 18 years old, and meet the apprenticeship eligibility requirements, including:

  • The right to work in the UK
  • UK, EU or EEA residency for at least three years prior to the start of the course
  • Access to your own transport, due to our location

We're also looking for someone who:

  • Is a positive team player who enjoys working collaboratively
  • Has strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance work responsibilities and academic study
  • Remains calm and professional under pressure, adapting to changing priorities and business needs
  • Is reliable, responsible, and committed to delivering high standards
  • Is a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn
  • Has relevant industry experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to succeed on the programme

There is no upper age limit, and we welcome applications from individuals looking to start, change, or develop their career in hospitality and business management.
