Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support laboratory operations by preparing specimens, assisting with testing procedures, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and accuracy. Your contributions will directly impact patient care by enabling efficient and precise laboratory services.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting biomedical scientists with sample processing
  • Support the setup and calibration of laboratory equipment, adhering to safety and quality standards
  • Record detailed test results accurately in laboratory information systems
  • Ensure all laboratory areas are clean, organised, and comply with infection control procedures including proper disposal of biohazardous waste
  • Partake in the reception of samples and the preparation for analysis

Experience

  • Previous hospital or clinical laboratory experience is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with medical terminology used within laboratory settings
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance is advantageous
