Full job description

Role: Employment Facilitator

Location: Hybrid/ London - Tower Hamlets, Newham, Barking, Dagenham, Lewisham and Lambeth

Contract: Fixed Term Contract - 12 months – Full Time 37 hours a week

Salary: Up to £30,000.00 per annum (according to experience and qualifications) plus London Allowance £3333.00

About the Role

Thanks to funding, Action for Children is bringing a new employability programmes to London for the very first time, opening exciting opportunities in an area where many young people face barriers to employment.

Our service is designed to support those who need it most, including care-experienced young people, individuals with SEND, refugees and asylum seekers, those facing homelessness, and young people living in poverty. Through personalised support, the programme connects participants with training, apprenticeships, and real career opportunities, and take meaningful steps towards a brighter future.

Across all programmes, you will build trusted relationships with young people, deliver engaging learning experiences, and provide tailored support that helps individuals overcome barriers, realise their potential, and achieve positive, sustained outcomes.

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Employment Facilitator to deliver a range of impactful employability and early-intervention programmes supporting children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds across London to build confidence, develop skills, and progress into education, training and employment.

You’ll be at the heart of a dynamic set of youth programmes empowering young people from Year 10 through to age 25. Across schools, communities and employer settings, you’ll bring energy and momentum to 1:1 coaching, group workshops, accredited training and industry‑led experiences.

You’ll spark ambition, open doors and help young people build the skills and self‑belief to thrive.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging group sessions tailored to young people aged 16–18, supporting varied learning styles.
  • Manage a caseload of young people using a key worker approach, providing a range of targeted interventions to assist their entry into the world of work.
  • Facilitate employability-focused activities.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with corporate partners, employers, training providers, education establishments, and external agencies.
  • Coordinate programme delivery alongside volunteers.
  • Track and monitor participant progress, through reports.
  • Represent the organisation at meetings, employment forums, site visits with employers, training providers.

Let's talk about you, ideally you will have:

  • Experience working with young people aged 15–25, particularly those facing barriers to education or employment.
  • Experience delivering group work, training, or employability programmes.
  • Strong understanding of youth development, employability, and progression pathways.
  • Ability to engage and inspire young people from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience working in partnership with employers or external stakeholders is desirable
  • A Qualification in Youth Work, Careers Guidance, Social Care, or equivalent.
