About Us:
deltaflare is a leading provider of cutting-edge cyber security solutions. We are seeking a seasoned and innovative Senior Golang Backend Developer to play a key role in driving the success of our flagship Phoenix Platform—a cyber security solution designed to protect industrial control systems.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Golang software development professional with deep expertise in backend development, secure coding practices, and DevSecOps to make a tangible impact on the future of industrial cyber security.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Collaborate with the Head of Development to provide technical direction and mentorship to the backend development team, fostering best practices in secure software design and delivery.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership and other senior stakeholders to define and implement the technical vision for the Phoenix Platform.

Backend Development

  • Develop and lead the design and development of highly scalable and secure Golang-based microservices with a focus on fault tolerance, performance, and maintainability.
  • Architect and implement APIs using RESTful and gRPC frameworks to ensure secure communication and optimal data integrity.
  • Oversee containerisation efforts, including Docker multi-stage builds, and ensure secure orchestration practices for production environments.

Security Integration & DevSecOps

  • Champion the adoption of DevSecOps principles, embedding security throughout the CI/CD pipeline to ensure secure, automated deployments.
  • Enforce robust Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), encryption protocols, and compliance with standards like ISO 27001, IEC 62443, and OWASP guidelines.
  • Actively address vulnerabilities in distributed systems and implement solutions aligned with best practices for memory safety and secure coding.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with front-end developers, UI/UX designers, and DevOps engineers to create a cohesive and secure user experience.
  • Partner with deltaflare’s Operational Technology engineering teams to support integration, consulting, and custom development initiatives.
  • Represent deltaflare in engagements with system integrators, customers, and the broader cyber security community.

Testing & Optimisation

  • Lead the creation and maintenance of comprehensive unit, integration, and security tests to ensure platform reliability and resilience.
  • Optimise system performance and scalability through rigorous debugging, profiling, and architectural improvements.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

  • Maintain detailed documentation for system architecture, security policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to internal training programmes on secure coding and system design principles.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of professional experience in backend development with a focus on Golang, microservices architecture, and secure coding practices.
  • Deep expertise with Docker, container orchestration, and secure deployment workflows.
  • Proven track record in implementing and managing security-focused CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB), with a focus on database security.
  • Familiarity with messaging protocols, distributed system architecture, and advanced debugging techniques.
  • Experience implementing and enforcing compliance with security frameworks such as OWASP, CIS Benchmarks, or NIST guidelines.

Desirable Skills

  • Deep understanding of industrial control systems security and OT environments.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or security tools.
  • Hands-on experience with threat detection, vulnerability management, and secure software lifecycle frameworks.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Leadership skills with experience mentoring junior developers and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach to solving complex problems.
