We are looking for a hardworking, reliable and enthusiastic Driver / Warehouse Operative to join our growing team. The working hours would be 8am-5pm

Job Purpose

The role involves delivering products to customers safely and efficiently while supporting the day-to-day operation of our busy warehouse.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring customer orders are picked, packed, loaded and delivered accurately and on time, maintaining our high standards of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Deliveries

• Deliver customer orders safely, efficiently and professionally across our delivery areas.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring goods are handled carefully and securely.
• Check deliveries against paperwork to ensure orders are accurate.
• Provide a friendly, helpful and professional service to customers.
• Obtain proof of delivery and ensure all relevant paperwork is completed correctly.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Keep delivery vehicles clean, tidy and presentable.
• Plan and follow delivery routes efficiently.
• Assist customers with deliveries where required, including moving goods to designated delivery areas.

Warehouse Duties

• Pick and pack customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Receive incoming deliveries from suppliers and check goods against delivery notes.
• Replenish stock and ensure products are stored safely and correctly.
• Assist with stock rotation, stocktaking and inventory checks.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, organised and safe warehouse environment.
• Report damaged goods, stock discrepancies or shortages.
• Assist with general warehouse duties as required.

Health & Safety

• Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.
• Use manual handling techniques correctly when lifting and moving products.
• Ensure vehicles are loaded safely and within legal weight limits.
• Handle cleaning chemicals and other products in accordance with relevant safety procedures.
• Report accidents, hazards or near misses promptly.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Good driving record.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever required.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in a delivery driver or warehouse role.
• Experience driving commercial delivery vehicles.
• Forklift licence or previous forklift experience.
• Familiarity with Gloucester and surrounding delivery areas.
• Experience using warehouse stock management systems.
