Part-time Waitstaff / Server (Italian Restaurant, City Centre)

Pay: £12.72 per hour plus tips

Hours: Part-time, flexible shifts including evenings and weekends

Location: Edinburgh City Centre

We are an authentic, bustling Italian restaurant located in the heart of Edinburgh city centre. We are looking for an enthusiastic Waitstaff / Server to join our front-of-house team on a part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Hospitality: Welcoming customers with a warm smile, guiding them to their tables and presenting food and drink menus.

Order Taking and POS Operation: Taking accurate food and beverage orders using our Point of Sale system and handling cash and card transactions securely.

Food and Beverage Service: Serving authentic Italian dishes, wines and other beverages efficiently while maintaining high service standards.

Menu Knowledge: Answering customer questions about menu items, daily specials, ingredients and dietary requirements, including gluten-free and vegan options.

Table Management: Preparing tables before service, clearing and sanitising them between customers and keeping the dining area clean and presentable.

Customer Care: Checking that guests are satisfied and handling their requests or concerns promptly and professionally.

Requirements

A minimum of one year’s experience as a waiter, waitress or server in a busy restaurant environment is required.

Basic knowledge or appreciation of Italian food and beverages would be an advantage.

Ability to use a POS till system and process payments accurately.

Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Punctual, reliable and available to work during busy periods, including evenings and weekends.

Right to work in the UK.
