Reporting to: Commercial Manager

About the Role

We're looking for a highly driven Area Sales Manager with a passion for winning new business to expand our presence across Northern England. This is a business development-focused role where success will come from identifying, approaching and converting new equestrian retail customers, while growing relationships with existing accounts. A strong understanding of the equestrian retail market and established industry contacts will be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hit targets: Deliver agreed sales and margin goals for your territory.
  • Grow relationships: Build and maintain strong, lasting partnerships with existing customers, distributors, and suppliers.
  • Identify and expand the business: Identify & win new opportunities, develop new channels, and keep ahead of competitor activity.
  • Increase market share: by converting retailers to our brands.
  • Champion our brands: Work with Marketing to deliver campaigns and initiatives that raise awareness and drive sales.
  • Support customers: Provide product training, advice, and support that adds value and strengthens loyalty.
  • Stay connected: Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to represent the business.
  • Share insights: Provide clear and regular reports on opportunities, risks, and territory performance.
  • Keep learning: Liaise with suppliers to stay up to date on new products and pass that knowledge on to customers.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven sales experience (5+ years), ideally within the agricultural or equestrian sectors.
  • A strong track record in business development and brand growth.
  • A proven history of winning new business and opening new customer accounts.
  • A thorough understanding of the UK equestrian market.
  • Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and target-driven.
  • Comfortable analysing sales data to inform strategy.
  • Good IT and numeracy skills.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
