Hours: 5 days per week (37.5 Hours) Worked between Monday- Friday
Salary: Grade 4 £30,570 - £33,062 (5% employer pension contribution, Medicash and group life assurance, 27 days annual leave per annum for FTE plus bank holidays)
Location: Liverpool Office – Hybrid working with regular travel to programme communities and events. Some flexibility to work from home, subject to business requirements and line manager approval.
Role Summary
The Marketing and Content Officer will bring Right to Succeed's work to life through creative design, photography and film. You will create engaging, on-brand visual assets for social media, print and digital channels, helping our audiences understand our work and see the people, partnerships and progress behind our programmes.
This is a hands-on creative role, combining graphic design and report production with filming, photography and editing. Working with communications, marketing and programme colleagues, you will turn agreed briefs, approved copy, data and community stories into compelling materials for residents, partners, funders and wider audiences.
You will contribute ideas, maintain a consistent visual identity and deliver high-quality assets that amplify community voices and showcase the impact of our work.
Scope of the Role
The focus is creative delivery within agreed priorities, briefs and approvals, rather than ownership of marketing strategy, digital infrastructure or channel analytics. Event support centres on promotional materials, filming and photography, rather than venue logistics, ticketing or front-of-house management.
Role Summary
1. Creative design, reports and marketing collateral
- Develop creative concepts and translate agreed briefs into engaging, on-brand designs for Right to Succeed and its programmes, adapting the approach for different audiences and purposes.
- Design and lay out programme, impact and organisational reports, summaries, case studies and presentations. Turn approved copy, data and imagery into clear, accessible publications, checking factual content with the relevant colleagues.
- Create print and promotional materials such as leaflets, posters, brochures, banners, display materials and event merchandise, maintaining a consistent visual identity across formats.
- Create and maintain reusable design templates, applying brand guidelines consistently across typography, colour, imagery, logos and partner branding.
- Manage artwork through proofing, amendments and approval. Prepare print-ready and digital files, liaise with printers and other production suppliers, and check that finished materials meet the agreed brief and quality standards.
2. Photography, filming and visual storytelling
- Travel to programme communities, schools, partner venues and events to capture high-quality photography and film that positively represents children, young people, residents and the people supporting local change.
- Plan agreed content-capture visits with programme colleagues, preparing practical briefs, shot lists and interview prompts, and checking equipment, locations and permissions in advance.
- Capture interviews, programme activities, community events and supporting footage, using appropriate camera, sound and lighting equipment to produce clear, engaging material.
- Edit photographs, video and audio into finished content, including short films, interviews, case studies and social media edits. Add suitable captions, titles and brand treatments to support accessible storytelling.
- Adapt longer films and existing footage into shorter edits and alternative formats, extending the usefulness of each shoot while preserving the meaning and context of contributors' stories.
3. Visual assets for social media and digital channels
- Create social media graphics, carousels, short-form videos, infographics, website visuals and email or newsletter assets that support agreed brand, programme and fundraising campaigns.
- Adapt designs, images and films to the specifications and audiences of different channels, maintaining quality and consistency across print and digital outputs.
- Contribute creative ideas to content planning and provide approved, publication-ready assets to colleagues responsible for channels. Support routine visual-content updates and uploads when required.
- Use feedback and performance insights shared by colleagues to refine creative work, improve clarity and engagement, and develop more effective visual formats.
4. Brand consistency, permissions and asset management
- Check creative work for brand consistency, accuracy and accessibility, including readable layouts, captions, image descriptions and appropriate use of imagery.
- Follow Right to Succeed's consent, safeguarding and data-protection procedures when capturing, storing and using photographs, film and personal stories. Ensure permissions are recorded and checked before publication.
- Maintain organised photography, film and design libraries, with clear file names, project details, versions and links to permission records so colleagues can locate and reuse approved assets.
- Handle stories sensitively and represent communities positively and respectfully. Check permitted uses of images, music and other third-party assets, and raise any concerns before use.
5. Collaborative delivery and production planning
- Work closely with the Senior Communications, Marketing and Media Lead and communications, marketing, programme and fundraising colleagues to understand briefs, audiences and deadlines.
- Manage your own creative projects and production schedule, balancing planned work and incoming requests. Agree priorities, communicate progress and flag conflicting deadlines or resource needs early.
- Build constructive relationships with colleagues, partners and contributors, helping people feel comfortable during filming and photography and responding positively to feedback and amendments.
- Liaise with external creative and print suppliers on agreed tasks, work within approved production budgets and contribute ideas that make effective use of content, equipment and resources.
Please note the critical responsibilities of this role are described above. They may be subject to reasonable changes from time to time in line with business needs.
What success looks like
Success means a reliable flow of engaging, on-brand assets; well-designed reports and collateral delivered to agreed deadlines; authentic photography and film that reflect community voices; and an organised, permission-linked library that makes good content easy to find and reuse.
