Job purpose
UHE UK delivers extended degree courses (three years plus a foundation year) awarded in partnership with University of Roehampton. The Student Support Officer provides high-quality, student-focused administrative and pastoral support across all stages of the student journey at the Greenwich Campus.
The role contributes directly to an outstanding student experience by ensuring students receive timely guidance, welfare support, and access to University of Roehampton (UR) services in line with the operational and quality requirements of the Roehampton–Oxford International franchise agreement.
Working collaboratively with the Campus Manager, Programme Leaders, and Roehampton University’s professional services, the postholder will play a key role in ensuring student wellbeing, engagement, and compliance with attendance, progression, and support processes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Student Experience and Welfare
- Provide proactive front-line student support, signposting students to Roehampton and Oxford International services (e.g. wellbeing, disability, academic support).
- Support the delivery of student induction, orientation, and engagement events.
- Monitor attendance and engagement data, following up with students at risk of disengagement in accordance with Roehampton and Oxford International policies.
- Assist with student feedback collection, including pre-arrival, induction, and end-of-module surveys.
- Support the organisation of student representatives and ensure their participation in programme and campus meetings.
- Maintain accurate student support and intervention records in line with GDPR requirements.
External/Reception
- Deal with Campus enquiries in person or over the telephone and give a warm welcome to students and visitors
- Support the Oxford International Head Office & Campus teams in managing the pre-arrival inbox and ensuring accurate and up-to-date pre-arrival information is always available to all stakeholders
- Work closely with Campus team, Head office team and pre-arrival advisors to ensure all pre-arrival pre-requisites are fulfilled so students join their course on time
- Assist with the administration of Accommodation and Airport Pick-Up bookings for students, involving elements of customer service, database & spreadsheet management
- Facilitate the accommodation booking process at Conditional Offer and Unconditional Offer stage
- Communicate with incoming students in regard to pre-arrival questions including visa outcomes, arriving on campus, late arrivals, online and face to face registration etc
- Connect the pre-arrival advisors as well as students with appropriate resources required for a seamless pre-arrival support
- Assist the Campus team report students at risk of falling below the required attendance level in accordance with established rules

- To assist with the preparation of reports/records of meetings and to attend where appropriate
- Follow up with students where information is required from them
- Collect, collate and disseminate student satisfaction at arrival
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to academic and support teams in accordance with Oxford International and Roehampton’s academic regulations and operational procedures.
- Support assessment-related administration, including exam preparation, submission tracking, and results documentation.
- Maintain accurate student and staff records using Roehampton and Oxford International systems.
- Update student communications channels (notice boards, Moodle, and online platforms).
- Assist with enrolment and registration processes, including ID verification, data entry, and liaison with the Oxford International and Roehampton Registry.
Communication and Liaison
- Act as a key point of contact for students and staff on welfare, attendance, and general enquiries.
- Work closely with the Campus Manager, academic staff, and Roehampton Link Tutors to ensure effective coordination of student support.
- Liaise with Roehampton’s Student Services, Library, and IT teams to facilitate student access to institutional resources.
- Support preparation of reports, data, and documentation for audits and quality reviews.
General
- Promote a welcoming and supportive environment for all students, with particular sensitivity to the needs of home and international learners.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Demonstrate flexibility, including working occasional evenings and Saturdays during peak periods (e.g. registration, induction, open days).
- Undertake relevant professional development to enhance role effectiveness and understanding of university partnership operations.

Qualifications
- Administrative qualification
- Certified IT skills (Desirable)
- First Aid or Mental Health First Aid training (Desirable)
Experience and knowledge
- Office/administrative experience
- Experience handling confidential student data and supporting compliance processes (e.g. attendance, engagement, welfare).
- PA/Reception experience (Desirable)
- Worked in a Further or Higher Education institution (Desirable)
- Experience of working with international students/non-English/ diverse learner groups. (Desirable)
Skills and abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a supportive and professional approach.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with virtual learning environments (e.g. Moodle).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team.
