Social Media & Graphic Design Assistant

Whitehall Garden Centre is a family-run and award-winning business, and we are looking for a creative, enthusiastic and friendly individual to join our team as a Social Media & Graphic Design Assistant.

As we continue to grow our social media presence, we are looking for someone who can help maintain and develop our social media platforms, create engaging content and produce creative graphic design materials to support our marketing and promotional activity.

Working closely with the Director of Operations, you will play an important role in creating engaging content for Whitehall Garden Centre and helping to grow our online presence.

The Role

Social Media

Manage Whitehall Garden Centre's social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
Plan, schedule and publish engaging content on a regular basis
Create, film and edit content for TikTok and Instagram Reels, using a mobile phone and appropriate editing software
Keep up to date with current social media trends and identify opportunities for Whitehall to participate in relevant trends
Develop creative ideas for videos, photographs, competitions, promotions and campaigns
Attend events and activities at the Garden Centre to capture relevant social media content
Manage tagged user-generated content (UGC), including obtaining appropriate permissions and incorporating content into the posting schedule
Work with the Director of Operations on partnerships, collaborations, competitions and giveaway ideas
Respond to customer comments and queries received through social media in a friendly and professional manner
Monitor social media performance and provide regular reports and feedback on engagement and growth
Use Meta Business Suite to manage, schedule and monitor content
Graphic Design

Create engaging graphics and promotional materials for social media and other marketing channels
Design content for seasonal campaigns, events, promotions and special offers
Assist with creating posters, flyers, signage, promotional materials and other marketing collateral when required
Ensure all designs reflect the Whitehall Garden Centre brand and maintain a consistent visual style
Adapt existing designs and templates for different platforms and campaigns
Create general site signage as required by Department Managers
Photography & Video

Take high-quality photographs and videos around the Garden Centre
Capture products, displays, restaurants, events, seasonal activities and behind-the-scenes content
Film engaging short-form video content suitable for social media
Edit video content using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut or similar programmes
Be comfortable appearing in videos and creating fun, engaging content when required
Candidate Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

Has a genuine passion for social media, content creation and graphic design
Has experience creating content for Instagram, TikTok and Facebook
Is confident using social media scheduling and management tools
Has experience using Meta Business Suite
Has knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut or similar video editing software
Has experience with graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, or similar
Has a good eye for photography, video and visual design
Is comfortable working at a fast pace and reacting quickly to current trends
Is highly self-motivated and able to work to deadlines
Has a positive attitude and is willing to get involved and hit the ground running
Has an understanding of social media performance and engagement
Has experience producing and reporting on social media performance
Has a strong portfolio of examples demonstrating content they have planned, created, edited and published
Has a good understanding of current social media, digital marketing and content trends
Is a strong communicator who can work both independently and as part of a team
Has excellent attention to detail
Is organised and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Working Pattern

Temporary Part Time – 2 or 3 days per week

The role offers flexible working, with some flexibility around the days and hours worked to suit the needs of the business and the successful candidate.

Some weekend or event work may occasionally be required to capture content for special events, seasonal activities and promotions.
