Job title: Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer

Reports to: CTO.

Salary: up to £100,000 + Benefits.

We are recruiting for a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our growing Tech team and work across our suite of mobile and web applications to help us to deliver an exceptional, bug free customer experience.

Key Deliverables:

To include, but not limited to:

• Write well-designed, testable and reliable code for our mobile apps and web platforms.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications as we scale.
• Implement efficient and reliable integration with PostgreSQL databases always looking to optimise performance.
• Utilise Docker for containerization, ensuring seamless deployment and scalability of applications.
• Collaborate with your team in a hands-on environment using pair and mob programming practices.
• Contribute towards the technical strategy of our platform.
• Maintain a sensible level of documentation.

The Ideal Candidate:

• 5+ years working with Ruby on Rails, Ruby version & gem managers in a commercial environment.
• Proven experience developing RESTFul API backends for Javascript apps.
• Worked with CI/CD and familiar with GitHub Actions.
• Implemented automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, e2e, performance).
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and best practices.
• Is comfortable working within a fast paced environment with strict time constraints.
• Familiarity with YAML and configuration management practices.
• API design, implementation, and integration.

• Practical task + onsite interview.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

• Ruby on Rails: 3 years (required)
• React: 3 years (preferred)
