Kick-start your career in software development with Teknobu Group!
At Teknobu Group, we're passionate about helping businesses work smarter through innovative technology. We design and deliver bespoke software, AI-powered solutions, business systems and digital tools that solve real-world challenges, streamline operations and drive growth. As a trusted technology partner, we pride ourselves on combining technical expertise with a collaborative, customer-focused approach to create solutions that make a genuine difference.
We're looking for a curious and enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in software development. Whether you've been coding in your spare time, built your own projects and are eager to learn, you'll enjoy solving problems, exploring new technologies and developing your skills as part of a supportive team that wants to see you succeed.
As a Software Developer Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced developers who will mentor and guide you through real projects, giving you hands-on experience from day one. Alongside your role, you'll complete your apprenticeship with Baltic Apprenticeships, attending dedicated two-day training blocks every 6–8 weeks to build your technical knowledge and professional skills while applying what you learn in the workplace.
In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 4 Software Developer qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
A Typical Day in the Job:
- Contribute to the planning, design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance of software products and client solutions.
- Write logical, readable and maintainable code in line with agreed requirements, coding standards and security expectations.
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to support research, prototyping, documentation, debugging and productivity, while validating outputs and protecting confidential information.
- Work with developers, product owners, project managers, support colleagues and clients to understand problems and translate requirements into practical software solutions.
- Test software thoroughly, identify defects, implement appropriate fixes and document evidence of testing and resolution.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including user stories, workflows, wireframes, data models, API notes, test evidence and deployment instructions.
- Participate in team huddles, sprint planning, demonstrations, peer reviews and retrospectives.
Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.
Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge
- A genuine interest in software development, AI and using technology to solve real problems.
- Basic experience of programming, web development, databases, low-code development or a relevant personal/college project.
- Logical thinking and the patience to investigate problems methodically.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including the confidence to ask questions and present work.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently, including within a flexible working environment.
- Curiosity, personal responsibility and willingness to learn from feedback
- Professional conduct when working with colleagues, clients and confidential information.
- A Grade 4/C in GCSE Maths & English
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
- £18,000 per annum
- 9am- 5pm, Monday to Friday
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Onsite Café and Gym
- A supportive, flexible environment that values initiative, learning and responsible experimentation.
- Potential progression into a permanent software development or related technology role.

To apply, please submit your CV and a cover letter explaining your interest in the role and what you hope to gain from an apprenticeship with Teknobu. If your application is then successful, one of our recruitment consultants will be in touch to discuss your application further.
