Graphic Designer – Relief (Zero Hours Contract)

Hourly Pay: £35 - £40 per hour plus holiday pay
Location: Leeds and surrounding area
Contract: Zero hours contract
Shifts: Various

Williams Lea seeks a Graphic Designer to join our relief team!

Purpose of role

Our relief team offers a flexible solution to Williams Lea, often working on critical projects for our clients, either remotely or on our client sites. As a Graphic Designer within our Relief Team, you will be working various shifts supporting our clients, as well as potentially covering holidays and sickness to ensure our services are fully staffed across multiple office locations in the United Kingdom, sometimes at short notice.

The Designer will work on a variety of print and digital projects. Using InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, this role requires you to work at pace with keen attention to detail. You will use your eye for detail and software knowledge to produce and deliver projects including business brochures, advertising, press inserts, web graphics, infographics and a variety of other print-based design work from brief through to print.

We are looking for someone with a ‘can-do’ attitude, willing to put forward ideas and have a keen eye for detail. Ensuring that all work sent out is to the highest standard and within brand guidelines. The candidate should be an extremely organised and dedicated individual with strong communications skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Production of high-quality print and digital materials, including multimedia or complex PowerPoint
  • Art working including photo editing
  • Ensure compliance with brand guidelines, legal requirements, and industry standards.
  • Regular interaction with clients, as well as close collaboration with your creative colleagues.
  • Working in a highly compliant environment, you will provide a seamless service that surpasses client briefs, whilst ensuring the delivery of on-brand creative material
  • Building strong client relationships with key stakeholders and relevant support teams
  • Quality checking high-quality design, artwork within Client brand guidelines and to approved briefs and timescales

Key competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in graphic design
  • In depth understanding of print and design processes
  • Excellent typography and layout skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud – InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Experience creating and editing iPDF documents
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS would be an advantage
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst under pressure
  • Must be able to work on their own initiative
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
