2‑Person Fitting Crew – Frames, Glazing & Roof Systems (Self‑Employed)

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced 2‑person self‑employed crew to carry out full installs of high‑end glazed extensions: frames, glazing and roofs.

You’ll be working on prepared bases/structures, installing aluminium/UPVC frames, glass, flat roofs and modular/lightweight tiled roof systems to a “show home” standard.

This is ongoing, repeat work for the right crew.

What You’ll Do

• Install aluminium and UPVC windows, doors, sliders and bi‑folds to spec and building regs.
• Install and finish flat roof systems (e.g. warm roof type systems, GRP/EPDM or similar).
• Install modular / lightweight tiled roof systems on conservatories and glazed extensions.
• Fit lanterns / rooflights and integrate with flat and tiled roofs.
• Complete trims, cappings, sealants, leadwork and basic making‑good so the install is genuinely finished.
• Work from detailed drawings and job packs, flagging issues or missing items before starting.
• Take clear before/after photos and complete a short job report after each install.
• Respect clients’ homes: protect surfaces, keep areas tidy, and leave the job “photo ready”.
• Follow Health & Safety rules, including working at height and manual handling.

Requirements (Must‑Haves)

• Proven experience as a conservatory / fenestration installer doing full installs, not just window swaps.
• Confident with:
• Frames and glazing (aluminium & UPVC)
• Flat roof builds and detailing
• Modular / lightweight tiled roof systems
• Able to read and work from technical drawings.
• Comfortable travelling to sites within about 60 minutes of Southampton most days.
• A reliable 2‑person crew, used to working together.
• Own van suitable for transporting your tools and equipment.
• Own full set of tools and access equipment for this type of work.
• High attention to detail and low‑snag work.
• Professional and polite with homeowners and other trades on site.

Outcomes / What “Good” Looks Like

• Minimum 1 full install per week (frames + glazing + roof) completed to our standard.
• Zero leaks and under 5% callback rate within 60 days of installation.
• 95% of jobs finished within the planned days and signed off by the office and homeowner.

Pay & Terms

• Self‑employed / subcontract basis.
• Pay:
• £250 per person per day
• £500 per day total for a 2‑person crew (depending on experience)
• Jobs are priced and agreed in advance based on expected duration and scope.
• Most work is scheduled within 60 minutes of Southampton to keep travel tight.
• Consistent pipeline of quality projects for a reliable crew that hits the standard.
