1 role is based in Manchester or Sheffield

As a Senior BA within DWP Digital you will lead business analysis activities within large complex Digital programmes, often across several teams and may include multiple technical delivery strands, in the delivery of service improvements.

Tech Services - Digital Workspaces
We provide the core technology that powers the Departments Digital Workplace, supporting citizen-facing services and colleagues across government. You will join a multi-disciplinary team delivering solutions such as Digital Signage and assistive technology, working with stakeholders to create reliable and innovative services that make a real difference.
Digital, Modernisation and Efficiency - Common Capabilities
We deliver critical services that support major transformation programmes modernising how DWP works. Using research-driven development, we automate processes and streamline workflows to help agents manage customer contact efficiently, reducing errors and improving experiences. You will work in a fast-paced environment within a multi-disciplinary team of experts in design, architecture, analysis and engineering, scaling and integrating our platform across multiple service lines.
Job description
As a Senior BA working within DWP Digital, you will:
- Work on large, complex, cross cutting products or services. Or, across a number of products or services simultaneously. Enabling the delivery of digital solutions to achieve strategic business outcomes.
- Lead workshops, interviews and focus groups to effectively understand business problems and user needs within large complex, cross cutting products or services.
- Collaborate with and communicate effectively across senior technical and business stakeholders, ensuring the understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria is aligned to our established Digital roadmaps.
- Understand the business processes and activities that impact and that are impacted by the product or service whilst developing an understanding of how the product or service aligns with the wider strategy of the department.
- Lead BA activities and initiatives and will champion continual learning & development within the BA community.
- Be a leading member of the BA community, taking on leadership and line management responsibilities of BAs, where required. Additionally, you will play a significant role in capability building and recruitment when required.
- Encourage and promote DWP Digital delivery methodologies, setting standards across the function and working to educate the BA teams working across the functions on principles, methods and tools to support their development.
- Use your experience of delivery methodologies, translating business and user needs into deliverables working collaboratively to define and achieve value outcomes.
- Work with senior business, project or technical stakeholders and will facilitate the setting of project priorities in line with strategic and business goals.
- Be encouraged to continually grow your management capabilities and will support colleagues to take responsibility for their own learning and development in line with business needs and strategic direction.

Hybrid Working
This role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work.

Salary Information
Pay for this role is from £57,946 to £68,205.
Our offer to successful candidates will be based on an assessment of your skills and experience as demonstrated at interview.
Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer will maintain their current salary.
Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion will move to the bottom of the grade pay scale or receive a 10% increase in salary, whichever is greater.

Stage 1: Application

Stage 2: Interview

- Significant experience of using a wide range of tools and techniques to identify improvements and make recommendations.
- Significant experience of supporting colleagues to take responsibility for their own learning and development.
To help you prepare and settle into the interview you will be sent the interview questions in advance of the interview, at least 5 days prior to your interview. These questions should be treated as confidential and should not be shared. The interview panel may ask you other questions which will not be shared in advance, including follow-up questions, and those about your experience and abilities. Candidates may be asked further probing questions if their response is deemed to require further information to determine suitability for the role.
