Full job description

MEDICAL ADMINSTRATOR

Belfast | Part-time | 16 hours pw (Job share possible)

The Mount Group Practice offers the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare from our established Medical Centre in Castlereagh Street, Belfast. The practice has over 4,000 patients in an intercity area. As well as a team of dedicated GPs, we have a friendly, supportive team of Managers, Nurses, Administrators, Secretaries and Reception staff.

We currently have a position for a Medical Administrator to join our reception team, on a permanent basis. We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic person to provide and maintain a high standard of administration work and assistance to our patients and doctors. This is a superb opportunity for someone wanting to develop their general practice skills alongside a highly experienced reception team.

A flexible attitude to work and the ability to work well within a team and independently is required, along with the following:

Essential criteria

  • At least 5 GCSE'S or equivalent grade A-C including Math and English.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in an office environment.
  • Have good IT knowledge.
  • Adhere to patient confidentiality and GDPR
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of working in clinical setting, such as in a GP practice.
  • Experience of using EMIS web clinical software

Job Summary:

  • Dealing with patients on a day to day basis as first point of contact. This will include speaking on the phone, making appointments, dealing with prescription requests, and dealing with telephone enquiries.
  • Ensuring patient queries are passed to appropriate staff efficiently and accurately.
  • Receiving patients on arrival to the practice, this will include marking them in for their appointments. Any other clerical duties around the office, such as scanning.
