This role is about more than tools and repairs – it’s about creating an environment where residents feel secure and supported every day. You’ll take pride in solving problems quickly, planning ahead, and ensuring our home always meets the highest standards.

Your role

  • Carry out repairs, maintenance, and routine safety checks to a high standard
  • Liaise with contractors and stakeholders to ensure safe, high-quality work is completed on time and in line with regulations
  • Test and log equipment including PAT, fire alarms, emergency lighting, generators and plant rooms
  • Respond quickly to complaints, service breakdowns and emergencies such as power or water outages
  • Keep tools and equipment in good condition, manage stock levels and stay within budget
  • Maintain accurate records, complete monthly audits and prepare reports for senior managers

Your skills

  • Hands-on experience in caretaking, general maintenance and minor repairs
  • Confident using hand tools and basic machinery
  • Practical knowledge of grounds maintenance and decorating
  • Familiar with risk assessments, COSHH, and basic Health & Safety legislation
  • Able to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
  • Full UK driving licence required

Your rewards

You deserve more than the basics. That’s why, alongside 25 days’ annual leave (rising to 30, plus bank holidays), occupational sick pay linked to length of service, and a pension matched up to 7%, we’ve created a package to help you thrive:

  • Health and wellbeing support – including Aviva Digicare+ with virtual GP appointments, plus an Employee Assistance Programme offering medical, financial, and legal advice, as well as short-term counselling
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • Parental leave arrangements and paid volunteering days
  • Company-funded training and ongoing career development opportunities
  • Flexible working options
  • Exclusive retail discounts, Cycle to Work, and brand-new salary sacrifice electric car schemes
