Job Overview
We are seeking a professional Powered Access HGV Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy goods vehicles, including flatbed lorries, to deliver and collect cherry pickers and scissor lifts efficiently and safely. This role requires a strong focus on safety, adherence to road regulations, and excellent driving skills. The ideal applicant will have previous experience in powered access driving and delivery operations, with a commitment to punctuality and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate powered access HGVs, including flatbed lorries, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys to identify any maintenance or safety issues.
  • Delivering and collecting mewps .
  • you will be loading and unloading deliveries, utilising appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs.
  • Follow route plans efficiently while adapting to unforeseen circumstances or delays.
  • Ensure the security of the vehicle and cargo during transit and at delivery points.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered on the road.

Qualifications

  • Valid HGV licence. IPAF 3a3b and IPAF load/unload
  • Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar large lorries.
  • Delivery driver experience is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of current road regulations and safety standards for heavy goods vehicles.
  • Ability to operate powered access equipment safely when required.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional attitude towards customer service.
  • Physical fitness to load/unload cargo as needed and perform routine vehicle inspections.
