Full job description

Are you ready to revolutionise the most advanced industry in the world? Join Flexciton to boost the productivity of world semiconductor manufacturing and improve the lives of the countless individuals who depend on it.

Imagine yourself regularly visiting semiconductor factories (“fabs”), working with engineers who use photolithography machines valued at $100 million each to produce nanometer-scale designs on silicon wafers. Picture the impact of our optimisation software squeezing out 20% more capacity from a fab costing $100 billion.

This is game-changing software that directly contributes to producing the next generation of chips, powering AI data centres, autonomous vehicles, and even SpaceX rockets! If you're ready to be part of something truly transformative, this is the opportunity you've been waiting for.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated product manager to discover, design, develop and bring highly innovative products into the semiconductor market. This will involve visiting state-of-the-art fabs, talking to expert industrial engineers, working with R&D, performing data analyses, designing complex logic and creating paradigm-shifting products.

A typical discovery conversation might go like this:

“Why are you restricted to using these machines for this product?” “When you’re producing FinFETs at sub-14nm scale, we have to use hot doping so the crystal structure isn’t damaged, shooting the resistance way up. We only have four machines which can do this process.” “And buying more machines is too expensive?” “We just don’t have space in the current building, so we need to find more capacity some other way.” “...Sounds like you need Flexciton scheduling!”

It’s extremely exciting to work with such cutting-edge technology, and don’t worry: previous experience in semiconductor or manufacturing is not required.

What you’ll be doing

  • Product Discovery: Analyse the market and competition; visit and engage with customers globally; work closely with AI researchers and optimisation engineers.
  • Product Development and Validation: Analyse fab data; prototype and test solutions; iterate quickly; define the roadmap and get to market.
  • Execution: Work with cross-functional engineering teams; dive into technical details to ensure they meet customer needs; define goals and prioritise features.

Requirements

The requirements below are not a checklist. Great product managers often come from unexpected places, so if you feel your particular experiences could allow you to add a lot of value at Flexciton, get in touch!

1. Experience:

  • 2-3 years in product management, ideally in B2B SaaS, and ideally with change management experience.
  • Demonstrated product success, market fit, and business growth.
  • Experience with complex or technical projects.
  • Technical proficiency in Excel/SQL/Python/Tableau, and data analysis.

2. Product Management Skills:

  • Clear and precise thinking with the ability to simplify complex issues.
  • Decision-making under uncertainty, with strong prioritisation skills.
  • Able to balance the use of processes and frameworks vs first-principles thinking.

3. People Skills:

  • Strong listener with empathy and effective questioning to understand real needs.
  • Confident and concise verbal and written communication to technical and managerial staff, with the ability to tailor a message to the audience.

4. Culture Fit:

  • Humility, self-motivation, and high standards.
  • Strong work ethic and a mentality of truth-seeking and adding maximum value.
  • Independence, agency and deep thinking.
5. Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of optimisation/AI, worked on products involved optimisation or AI.
  • Experience in manufacturing, semiconductor and/or industrial engineering.
  • Fluency in Mandarin.

Occasional travel will be required, typically a few days every other month.

Why Join Us

We are a team of over 30 people with over 500 combined publications, and three patents, and we're pioneering the 4th industrial revolution. We craft cutting-edge AI solutions tailored for semiconductor manufacturing, unifying fab decision-making and enabling the next generation of technology.
