Driver Trainer Manager – Preston – £50,000
Established in 1970, Montgomery Transport Group is one of Europe's leading suppliers of logistical services. The company is a privately owned business, part of the Ballyvesey Holdings Group that has grown significantly in recent years, now providing a diverse range of Logistics Services throughout the United Kingdom, Ireland and Europe.
Due to recent growth Montgomery Transport is currently seeking to recruit a Driver Trainer Manager to based in Preston.
Purpose of the Role
To ensure all company drivers are fully trained and competent in the safe operation of all aspects of HGV. The Senior Driver Trainer will maintain consistent standards across the driving team, ensuring every load is completed safely, correctly, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
· Train and assess new and existing drivers on the safe loading, operation, and unloading of HGV’s
· Ensure all drivers operate to a consistent and professional standard.
· Conduct driver assessments, ride-alongs, and refresher training as required.
· Promote safe working practices in line with company policies and industry regulations.
· Maintain accurate training and competency records.
· Support the Transport Manager in developing driver standards, procedures, and training materials.
· Act as a role model for safety, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Key Outcomes
· Drivers are competent, confident, and compliant with company safety and operational standards.
· Consistent and uniform performance across all drivers.
· Safe and efficient loading, transport, and unloading of all products.
· Reduction in incidents, near misses, and loading errors.
Skills and Experience
· Valid HGV Class 1 licence – Essential
· Proven experience of driving HGV’s – Essential
· Experience in training, mentoring, or assessing drivers – Preferred
· Strong understanding of HGV operations, health & safety, and road transport regulations
· Excellent communication and coaching skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £50,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
