Full job description
NQC is a successful and growing software company specialising in supply chain risk management platforms. We’re in the ‘Tech for Good’ space, providing online web platforms which are in use by some of the largest organisations across a number of industries.
Based in central Manchester, NQC offers a supportive working atmosphere within a diverse team of people. We work on a hybrid model and regularly meet up outside of the office for team socials and company events. This is an opportunity to work on globally recognised technology solutions used by major brands throughout the world, and become part of an exciting long term plan for sustainability, and a better future.
About your new role
Our software and client-facing teams each play critical roles in the development lifecycle of our software product, whether it’s the design to the deployment, or relaying feedback from our customers as part of our continuous improvement.
As part of our growth, NQC is searching for a dedicated Product Manager who will bridge the gap between stakeholders, customers and current market needs, and our talented developers and technical designers. The Product Manager’s primary goal is to ensure that our technology teams are building all the right things, and the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of business processes; a passion for managing projects; excellent communication skills; and a desire to deliver high-quality software products that meet our clients' needs.
Key Responsibilities
As a Product Manager, you are expected to undertake the following responsibilities as part of your day to day activities:
Own and maintain the product roadmap and backlog, ensuring alignment with company vision and goals, with the ability to effectively prioritise features, bugs, and tasks.
Define and communicate the product vision and long-term strategy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Development, UX, Customer Success, Marketing etc.) to bring products to life, ensuring alignment across departments during all phases of the product lifecycle.
Provide line management to a UX Designer and Junior Business Analyst.
Support team development and contribute to recruitment and hiring processes for the product function.
Write client proposals and respond to change requests with clarity and detail, as well as communicating these proposed changes and their implications to the development team.
Translate high-level requirements into user stories with clear acceptance criteria for the Development team.
Support financial planning and capacity management by aligning roadmaps with delivery expectations.
Delegate which features take priority based on resource availability.
Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be successful for this role, you will ideally meet these requirements:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, shown through previous working experience.
Experience in user research and user experience (UX) principles.
Proficiency in product management tools (e.g Jira).
The ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical individuals or groups.
Ability to deal with a demanding workload which may include conflicting demands on time.
Ability to work on own initiative and as a member of a team.
Excellent interpersonal skills with people at all levels.

Desirable: A Prince2 (or similar) qualification.
