Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Full Time Cook to join our service in Central Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals in a professional kitchen environment, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety for the residents in our service.
The ideal applicant will have previous kitchen experience and a strong understanding of food safety regulations.
For candidates who are looking for a better work/life balance, seeking to move away from the typical unsociable hospitality hours.
No evening work and alternate weekends
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to specified recipes and standards
- Assist in meal planning and portion control to minimise waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in line with hygiene regulations
- Ensure all food is stored correctly and at appropriate temperatures
- Follow food safety procedures diligently to prevent contamination or spoilage
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times, including proper handling of equipment and ingredients
Requirements
- A genuine love for creating high-quality, nutritious dishes.
- Previous experience working as a Chef in a professional kitchen
- City & Guilds 706 - 1 & 2 or an equivalent qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
