Full job description

After School Club Leader – Term Time Only – £14/hr (BS10)

Lead a small team | Make a difference | Full support provided

We’re looking for a friendly, confident After School Club Leader to run our after-school provision at Horfield Primary School. You’ll be the main person in charge on site, with full support from our central team.

Location: Horfield Primary School (BS10)

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm–6:15pm

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be the main person in charge on site - supporting a small team, creating a fun and safe environment, and making sure children aged 4–11 feel happy, included, and well cared for.

If you enjoy leading people just as much as working with children, and you’re ready for a role with real responsibility (and proper support), this could be the perfect next step.

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Has worked as a Room Leader, Deputy Manager, Club Leader, or in a similar wraparound/childcare setting
  • Feels confident running a small provision day-to-day
  • Enjoys leading people as much as working with children

What You’ll Do

  • Lead a team of 5 staff, providing guidance, support and structure
  • Act as the Designated Lead on site, with full support from our central team on safeguarding and compliance
  • Create a fun, inclusive, welcoming environment where children feel safe and engaged
  • Plan sessions, order supplies, and keep basic records up to date
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and school staff
  • Make sure health & safety and safeguarding standards are consistently followed

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 2+ childcare/playwork qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with primary-aged children in schools or clubs
  • Leadership or supervisory experience
  • Good safeguarding knowledge and basic IT skills

Why Join Us?

  • Term-time hours that fit around your lifestyle - no weekends or evenings
  • Paid holidays (pro rata)
  • Fully funded training and career progression
  • Supportive team and national network
  • Make a real difference in your local community

Apply now to become a valued part of our wraparound care team. Interviews will be scheduled as applications are received.
