Happy Nest Nanny & Maternity Agency are delighted to be supporting a returning family, known to the agency, in their search for a discreet, professional and experienced full-time nanny to care for their two-year-old daughter.
This is a lovely long-term position for a confident, nurturing and highly organised nanny who enjoys supporting children through their early years and becoming a trusted part of a busy family home. The family are looking for someone warm, reliable and proactive, who can offer a high standard of care while also respecting the privacy and routines of the household.
The family are expecting a new baby later in the year. Initially, the newborn will be cared for by a maternity nurse, however the nanny will be expected to support with some baby care as the role develops, working alongside the family and maternity nurse to ensure a smooth transition.
Their little girl is two years old and attends nursery for a couple of mornings each week[fn1] . During this time, the nanny will take responsibility for nursery-related duties, including organising her wardrobe, toys, nursery space, meal prep and keeping her areas tidy, well-stocked and well-presented.
The family also employ other household staff, including a housekeeper, so the nanny must be happy working as part of a wider team while taking full responsibility for the children’s day-to-day care.
The family travel and would like a nanny who is happy to offer some overnight support at the family home when required, as well as travel internationally and within the Uk with them.
The Role Will Include:
The nanny will be responsible for providing a safe, loving and stimulating environment for the little girl, supporting her development through age-appropriate activities, outings and play.
Duties will include planning fun and engaging activities such as trips to the park, toddler groups, library sessions, creative play, music, reading, puzzles, outdoor play and activities that encourage language, confidence, independence, social skills and physical development.
The nanny should have a good understanding of toddler development and be able to gently encourage learning through play, while following the child’s interests and supporting her routine. She is a happy, sociable child who thrives in a good routine.
The nanny will also be responsible for preparing healthy, nutritious meals and snacks, ensuring the little girl is offered a wide and varied range of foods. This will include encouraging positive eating habits, introducing new flavours and textures where appropriate, preparing balanced meals, batch cooking where helpful, and supporting the family’s approach to nutrition and mealtimes.
General nursery duties will include the child’s laundry, keeping her bedroom and play areas organised, rotating toys, packing nursery bags, managing clothing, ensuring supplies are replenished and keeping on top of anything relating to her daily care.
Later in the year, the role will also include some support with the new baby, working sensitively alongside the maternity nurse and family as the household adjusts.
The Ideal Nanny Will Be:
The family are looking for a discreet, professional and experienced nanny who is confident caring for toddlers and ideally also has baby experience.
You will be warm, kind, calm and nurturing, with a genuine passion for supporting children’s development. You will be organised, proactive and able to use your initiative, while also being respectful of family routines and boundaries.
You must be comfortable working in a fully staffed home and happy to liaise with other household staff in a positive and professional manner.
A driver is essential for this role.
You must also be happy around dogs, as the family have dogs in the home.
