Salary: £12.65 per hour
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Hours: 12.5 hours per week - 3:30pm – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday

Due to the increasing popularity of our Jigsaws Wraparound Club, Crayke CE Primary School is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Playworker to join us in the afternoons. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a nurturing and vibrant environment where children aged 4 to 11 can play, learn, and grow safely after their school day.

About the Role:

As a Playworker, you will play a key role in supporting our school’s commitment to providing a safe, fun, and inclusive space for children. You will help create engaging activities, support children’s well-being, and foster a positive atmosphere that reflects our Christian values of Respect, Friendship, Forgiveness, and Determination.

What You Will Do:

  • Supervise and engage with children in a variety of creative and stimulating play activities.
  • Prepare and provide healthy snacks, encouraging good nutrition.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
  • Support children’s social and emotional development in line with our school ethos.
  • Work closely with the Playleader, Playworker and school staff to maintain a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, building positive relationships.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised play area.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm to make playtime exciting and inclusive.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Experience working with children in play or educational settings is desirable.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to support the Christian ethos of our school.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance will be required.
