Pay: £14.35 per hour
Perks: Day off for your birthday, private health and dental care, health & wellbeing programme & staff events!
YMCA Worcestershire are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work nights at one of our supported accommodation site in Worcester.
We have a part-time position available - 20 hours a week (2 x 10 hour shifts).
You would be vital in ensuring the vulnerable young people we house are supported and can move towards independence.
You would oversee our project at The Foresters (which houses 14 16-25 year olds) throughout the night, ensuring a safe environment that our young people can feel comfortable and thrive in.
Our young people have often come to us after finding themselves homeless, or after leaving care, and you will be a trusted professional, someone who is a positive influence in helping them reach their full potential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To work with no other employees on site, ensuring the safety of the building, residents and visitors.
- To effectively manage challenging behaviour and disputes between residents, ensuring the project remains a peaceful environment for our young people.
- To perform admin tasks as required, including accurate record keeping, completion of handover documents and keeping on top of emails.
- To prioritise the safeguarding of our young people to ensure they are kept safe from abuse and harm.
- To provide support and advice for our young people regarding matters such as health and wellbeing, housing, employment, education and training.
- To understand the impact of trauma on our young people and work in a trauma-informed way.
- To be aware of and work with partner agencies to ensure the best support is in place for our young people.
- To attend appraisals, supervision and complete any relevant training to ensure your continued professional development.
