We have a fantastic opportunity at our York Distribution Centre (YDC) for a Warehouse Associate. We are looking for motivated individuals who want to build a long-term career with Nestlé. Whether you bring previous warehouse experience or are looking for a new challenge and development opportunity, you will be supported with training, coaching and opportunities to grow within our business.
You will receive the training needed to use material handling equipment (MHE) and forklifts safely and confidently. A strong focus on quality and pick accuracy will be essential to delivering the right experience for our customers and consumers.
You will also need to be safety-conscious and confident in challenging unsafe behaviours, helping us to prevent incidents and maintain a safe working environment.
We take pride in championing inclusion and diversity. We proudly signed the Business in the Community Race at Work Charter, are committed to Disability Confidence, and have been recognised as a Times Top 50 Employer for gender equality for three consecutive years. Additionally, we are a headline partner of Diversity and Inclusion in grocery.
Your impact
The main purpose of this role is to work safely as part of the YDC team, developing the skills and knowledge required to receive, store, pick and despatch products accurately and efficiently, while delivering excellent service to our customers.
Other key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Adhering to all standard operating procedures and safe working practices.
- Ensuring compliance with inventory management processes and associated quality controls, including accurate record-keeping.
- Maximising internal and external customer service by ensuring the timely and accurate despatch of goods
- Following good housekeeping and YDC standards, including a clean-as-you-go mindset, to maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment.
- Promoting effective teamwork and clear communication between shifts and the management team.
- Successfully identify and deliver opportunities for process improvement.
Your ingredients for success
Whether you already have experience in a warehouse or distribution environment or are looking to start a new career in logistics, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for individuals with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in developing a long-term career with Nestlé.
Experience within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment would be beneficial, but it is not essential, as full training will be provided on MHE, warehouse processes, quality standards and safe working practices.
Other qualities will include, but are not limited to:
- A positive, safety-focused attitude, with the confidence to speak up and help keep yourself and others safe.
- A commitment to learning, personal development and delivering excellent service by getting the right product to the customer on time.
- A team-focused, continuous improvement mindset, with a willingness to solve problems, develop new skills and look for better ways of working.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A desire to develop and progress within a fast-paced distribution environment.

In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates will be required to provide evidence of their right to work in the UK before commencing employment.
