Full job description

About Chilli:

Chilli Pepper Development is a growing training and development business based in Penkridge, Staffordshire. We work with organisations across a wide range of sectors, helping people develop the behavioural skills they need to succeed in leadership, sales and customer service.

We work with a network of experienced trainers and coaches to deliver engaging, practical training programmes for clients of all sizes. As a small, close-knit team, we take pride in the quality of our work, the relationships we build with clients and our friendly, down-to-earth approach.

We're looking for an organised, proactive and positive person to join our team. This is a varied role combining training coordination, business operations, client relationship management and business development. You'll play an important part in keeping things running smoothly while helping us maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities to grow the business.

About the role:

No two weeks will be exactly the same. You'll support the coordination and administration of our training programmes, help manage relationships with existing clients and contribute to the development of new business opportunities.

You'll work closely with the Chilli team and our network of associate trainers, ensuring clients receive a great experience from their initial enquiry through to training delivery and ongoing support.

The role would suit someone who enjoys variety, is confident communicating with people and can balance getting the detail right with taking a broader view of what the business needs. You'll need to be comfortable working independently, using your initiative and looking for ways to add value.

We offer flexibility around working hours and location, with a combination of home working and time spent with the team in our Penkridge office. We aim to get together regularly, so being able to attend the office when needed is important.

Key responsibilities:

You'll become a key part of the Chilli team, helping us deliver an outstanding experience for our clients from first enquiry through to programme delivery and beyond.

You'll be involved in:

  • Coordinating training programmes, managing schedules and working with clients, delegates and trainers to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Preparing programme materials, joining instructions and other resources, as well as maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Acting as a friendly point of contact for clients, responding to enquiries, supporting ongoing relationships and helping ensure they get maximum value from working with us.
  • Following up after programmes to gather feedback, identify future needs and spot opportunities to continue supporting clients.
  • Supporting proposals, quotations and other client communications.
  • Helping track enquiries, opportunities and client activity, while supporting business development and lead generation activities.
  • Working closely with the wider team to improve processes, solve problems and keep the business running efficiently.

What we're looking for:

Previous experience in administration, coordination, account management, customer service or business development would be beneficial. Experience in a training or professional services environment would also be an advantage, but we're open to candidates from different backgrounds.

You'll ideally have:

  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with different people.
  • A proactive approach to client service, with a genuine interest in building relationships and understanding client needs.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in identifying opportunities to develop existing accounts and generate new business.
  • The confidence to follow up with clients and prospective clients by email and phone.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams. Experience with SharePoint, CRM systems or sales-tracking tools would be an advantage.
  • A positive, practical, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is reliable, personable and proactive. As a small team, personality and attitude matter just as much as experience. We want someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a team and is happy to get involved wherever they're needed.

What we offer:

  • Permanent, part-time employment.
  • £14–£17 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Flexible working hours (between 14-21 which we're open to discussing), with scope to discuss arrangements that fit around other commitments.
  • A mix of home working and working from our Penkridge office (to be fully in the office for the first 3 months while learning/getting to know each other)
  • A friendly, supportive and informal team environment.
  • A varied role with the opportunity to develop skills across operations, client management and business development.
  • The opportunity to make a genuine contribution to the growth and success of a small business.
  • Free on-site parking.

Working hours and location

The role is approximately 14-21 hours per week. We're happy to discuss how these hours could be arranged to suit the successful candidate and the needs of the business.

You'll need to be able to travel to our Penkridge office when required, with flexibility around where day-to-day work is completed. We all get together in the office on a Monday as a team, so it's important you're able to join that too.

How to apply

If you're organised, enjoy building relationships and are looking for a varied part-time role where you can make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.

Please send us your CV along with a brief introduction (this is important!) explaining why the role appeals to you.
