Supply Chain Cardiac Angiography Stock Controller At JR site working Monday to Friday 5 day service, Working Closely with Clinical staff and other member of the supply chain team.
The Operational team based at the John Radcliffe Hospital requires a Supply Chain Cardiac Angiography Stock Controller .
A SupplyChain Stock controller assumes responsibility for maintaining, rotating, checking and ordering consumable material supplies held within the Cardiac Angiography area . The controller will use a computerised traceability and Inventory Management (IM) system. Many of these items will be time sensitive in response to providing necessary materials items that are vital for patient care. Inventory / Materials Management ensures the provision of a cost-effective and efficient stock management service.
The role is a crucial link between the Clinical team and the wider Supply Chain and procurement department, disseminating necessary information regarding Inventory Management issues to Matrons, Team Leaders and Procurement teams. Experience of working in an Inventory/ Material Management capacity is desirable, although training will be provided. A proven track record of intermediate level (or higher) computer literacy is required to manage the electronic Inventory/materials management traceability systems as well as an ability to demonstrate initiative and work unsupervised

1. Inventory management
- Responsible for placing orders, receiving, checking, safe storage, and correct distribution of all surgical consumable materials. The ward matron and team leaders will determine the levels of stored materials within the agreed budgets.
- To ensure that all stock is stored according to the manufacturers’ storage recommendations.
- To responsibly co-ordinate the ordering and delivery of high-cost Clinical Implants and / or Consumable materials.
- Checking receipts of goods that items are correct and undamaged, recording this information via the electronic Inventory / stock management system.
- To respond to requests for all SupplyChain services, including arranging couriers and ensuring the security of storage boxes/containers and their direct return to NHS SupplyChain and other companies.
- Ensure frequent stock rotation to minimise waste.
- Ensure storage areas are kept clean and tidy, using regular dusting and removing and appropriately disposing of rubbish / packaging.
- Organising and undertaking all Annual / Biannual Inventory management audits and reviews.
- Ensure that all Inventory management complaints/incident reports are investigated, actioned and archived correctly.
- Conduct scheduled cycle counts across all relevant departments in line with agreed counting programmes
- To effectively communicate face-to-face, via telephone, email, bleep or written message to convey clear information regarding Implants / consumable materials within the department.
- Liaise with clinical and medical staff, suppliers, procurement officers etc throughout the Dept and the wider organization regarding Inventory management information and supplies.
- There is a requirement to lift while carrying out duties with Inventory Management, with a frequent requirement to exert moderate physical effort whilst unloading and loading delivery trollies, cages and pallets. An appropriate level of physical fitness is therefore required for this role.
- Undertaking & completing all statutory and mandatory training is essential.
- To take a proactive approach to ensuring an efficient and effective management of Stock in Cardiac Angiography including responsibility for appropriate level setting, stock rotation and savings/benefit realization and recording.
- Ensure that access to the computerised traceability and stock management system is monitored and that the correct security procedures for access to the system are followed at all times in line with the Data Protection Act 2018 including GDPR and the Code of Practice on Confidentiality.
