About Swoop

We are a global community of over 100 adventure travel enthusiasts - ex-guides, avid travellers, and those with an adventurous spirit - spanning five continents. Since 2010, we’ve helped more than 15,000 people experience the trip of a lifetime in Antarctica, Patagonia and the Arctic. Our success is rooted in our intimate knowledge of these incredible regions, our deep care for their preservation, our commitment, as a B Corp, to doing what’s right for people and the planet and, above all, our connectedness as a global team.

About the role

Our website is one of Swoop's most important commercial assets, helping thousands of travellers discover and book life-changing adventures to Antarctica and Patagonia.

We're looking for a commercially-minded Digital Optimisation Lead to take ownership of our website's performance, ensuring it continually evolves to generate more qualified enquiries, improve conversion rates and deliver measurable commercial growth.

This is a strategic yet hands-on role where you'll shape and deliver our website optimisation roadmap, working closely with Marketing, Product, Technology and Sales. Using customer insight, analytics and experimentation, you'll identify opportunities to improve the customer journey, prioritise enhancements and ensure every change delivers value for both our customers and the business.

If you enjoy combining commercial thinking with data-driven decision making and love turning insights into measurable improvements, we'd love to hear from you.

What success look like

In this role you'll have the opportunity to make a measurable impact on one of Swoop's most important commercial channels. Success will be measured through improvements in website conversion, qualified enquiry generation, customer engagement and the delivery of a prioritised optimisation roadmap that drives real commercial results.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and deliver Swoop's website optimisation strategy, aligning activity with commercial objectives and business priorities
  • Identify opportunities to improve website performance, lead generation and conversion through customer insight, analytics and experimentation
  • Develop and manage a prioritised optimisation roadmap, balancing customer value with commercial impact
  • Analyse customer journeys to identify friction points and opportunities for improvement
  • Lead website optimisation initiatives including landing pages, enquiry journeys, forms and conversion pathways
  • Work closely with Product Design and Technology teams to implement and evaluate A/B tests and optimisation experiments
  • Partner with Marketing to maximise the effectiveness of website traffic and improve lead quality
  • Monitor website performance, reporting on KPIs including conversion, enquiry volume, engagement and lead quality
  • Build dashboards and reporting frameworks that translate data into actionable commercial recommendations
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation and evidence-based decision making across the business

About you

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) leading website optimisation or Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) programmes within a digital, ecommerce or lead generation business
  • Strong understanding of customer journey optimisation and improving website conversion performance
  • Experience using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and customer behaviour analytics tools to identify optimisation opportunities
  • Experience designing, implementing and analysing A/B tests and experimentation programmes
  • Commercially minded, with a strong focus on measurable business outcomes and return on investment
  • Confident prioritising multiple initiatives based on customer value, commercial impact and business priorities
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across Marketing, Product, Technology and Commercial teams
  • Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of complex cross-functional projects

Desirable:

  • You're naturally curious and enjoy solving problems using data and customer insight
  • You enjoy balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
  • You're passionate about continuous improvement and always looking for opportunities to optimise performance
  • You communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • You thrive in collaborative environments where influence is more important than hierarchy
  • You're commercially driven and motivated by seeing measurable improvements in customer experience and business performance
  • Experience within travel, ecommerce, marketplaces or premium consumer brands would be advantageous
  • Experience supporting website migrations, redevelopment projects or digital transformation initiatives would be beneficial
  • Exposure to AI-powered optimisation, personalisation or experimentation tools would be an advantage
  • Experience working within the US market would be advantageous
