Full job description

We are looking for a highly organised, detail-focused and confident Medical Report Administrator to join our team.

The role involves supporting our GP with the preparation of medical reports, including reviewing medical records, typing and formatting reports, processing amendments and liaising with clients and partner firms. You will also provide general administrative support to the wider office.

This is a varied role suited to someone who is confident using computer systems, has excellent attention to detail and enjoys working with detailed information in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing medical records and identifying relevant information required for reports
  • Typing and formatting medical reports accurately and efficiently from notes
  • Assisting the GP with the preparation and completion of medical reports
  • Reviewing completed reports for spelling, grammar, formatting and accuracy
  • Processing amendments and making changes to reports as required
  • Liaising with clients, solicitors and partner firms by email and telephone
  • Responding to queries and ensuring requests are dealt with promptly
  • Uploading, downloading and managing medical and other confidential documents
  • Maintaining accurate electronic records and keeping internal systems up to date
  • Using Microsoft Excel to maintain spreadsheets and track information
  • Using Adobe Acrobat to edit, combine and manage PDF documents
  • Assisting with general office administration and supporting colleagues with ad-hoc tasks
  • Managing multiple tasks and prioritising work to meet deadlines
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality when handling medical and personal information

About You

The successful candidate will be:

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident working with detailed medical records and written information
  • Comfortable using computer systems and able to learn new software quickly
  • Confident with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat
  • Able to type accurately and efficiently
  • A strong written and verbal communicator
  • Professional and confident when dealing with clients and partner firms
  • Able to work independently while also being a strong team player
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities and working to deadlines
  • Reliable, proactive and willing to assist with a variety of office tasks
  • Previous administrative experience is essential
  • Previous experience within a medical, healthcare, legal or medico-legal environment would be advantageous

Interview Process

As part of the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a practical skills assessment as part of the interview. This will be used to assess key skills relevant to the role, including attention to detail, typing accuracy, ability to work with information and general computer skills.
