Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Coding Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in IT and coding practices. This role requires excellent organisational skills, as well as proficiency in various software applications, including Emis Web. The Coding Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate data management and coding processes.
Duties
- Accurately clinically coding data on Jubilee Medical Centre into the patient record
- Reviewing records and accurately producing a summary of the patient’s medical history
- Identifying relevant clinical information documented in patient correspondence, coding appropriately and completing any detailed action
- Inputting and extracting data as required to support practice reports
- Filing and storing records as required
- Photocopying documentation as required
- Actioning all incoming correspondence, emails and mail in a timely manner
- Scanning patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients’ healthcare records
- Inputting data into patients’ healthcare records as necessary
- Answering incoming telephone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller’s request appropriatel
- Carrying out system searches as requested
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Supporting all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
Experience
- Proven experience in IT or a related field such as Emis Web is essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong command of English, both written and verbal, is necessary for effective communication.
