Full job description

Medical Receptionist.

We are a friendly, busy GP practice serving approximately 12,000 patients across our community. Our clinical team includes 3 GP Partners, 5 Salaried GPs, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 1 Practice Nurse, supported by an experienced and dedicated administrative team.

Due to a successful candidate withdrawing prior to commencement, this exciting opportunity has become available once again.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable individual with excellent communication and computer skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Previous experience working within a GP practice and knowledge of Vision and Docman would be advantageous but are not essential, as full training will be provided.

Main duties include:

  • Welcoming and assisting patients at reception and over the telephone.
  • Booking, amending and cancelling appointments.
  • Signposting patients to the most appropriate services.
  • Processing prescription requests.
  • Handling incoming mail and carrying out a range of administrative duties.

The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, be able to maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

This is a 30-hour per week position, worked between 8.00am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, across both of our practice sites. Flexibility is essential to provide cover for annual leave and sickness when required.

Previous experience is preferred but not essential. The post offers access to the NHS Pension Scheme.
