Responsibilities

  • Own demand and supply planning across AUK Group product range, adjusting purchasing activity in line with customer and seasonal demand changes.
  • Raise, track, and manage purchase orders through Orderwise, ensuring the system is kept accurate and up to date at all times.
  • Maintain strong commercial awareness of pricing across the supplier base; identify, question, and negotiate price increases before they are accepted.
  • Proactively engage with suppliers, to obtain beneficial re-negotiated terms.
  • Build and manage supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and terms to protect AUK's margins and service levels.
  • Onboard new suppliers, including setting up account and system arrangements and agreeing commercial terms. This will include occasional onsite visits to our suppliers.
  • Challenge and investigate anything in pricing, stock levels, or order data that doesn't look correct before it becomes a wider issue.
  • Work with the Sales Director and Managing Director to support new customer onboarding, adjusting demand plans as customer requirements change.
  • Delegate operational and administrative purchasing tasks to third-party support as needed, ensuring quality and accuracy of their output without formal line management responsibility.
  • Escalate to the Managing Director only where a decision carries genuine commercial risk or falls outside the role's authority — day-to-day supplier and pricing matters are expected to be resolved independently.

What we offer

AUK is a genuinely great place to work. You will report to the Managing Director with the opportunity to have a significant commercial impact on the bottom line.
