Occupational Health Technician

Permanent | 4 or 5 Days per Week

Are you looking for a varied role where no two days are the same? We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and professional Occupational Health Technician to join our friendly and supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity to start a rewarding career in Occupational Health. No previous Occupational Health Technician experience is required as full training will be provided.

The role is available on either:

  • 5 days per week (Monday to Friday), or
  • 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday)

About the Role

As an Occupational Health Technician, you will travel to client sites to carry out workplace health screening and medical assessments. You will work alongside our Occupational Health Nurses and Physicians, accurately collecting health information to support workplace health assessments.

The role is primarily based across Southampton, Hampshire, the South Coast and the Isle of Wight, with occasional travel to other locations across the UK. Some overnight stays may be required. All travel and accommodation are arranged and paid for in advance by our administration team.

Key Responsibilities

You will carry out a range of workplace health screening tests, including:

  • Height, weight and blood pressure measurements
  • Urinalysis
  • Hearing tests (audiometry)
  • Lung function testing (spirometry)
  • Drug and alcohol testing
  • Recording accurate clinical information using electronic systems
  • Preparing and maintaining equipment
  • Providing a professional, friendly and confidential service to clients

Working Hours

  • 4 or 5 days per week
  • Monday to Thursday (4-day option) or Monday to Friday (5-day option)
  • Core hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm
  • Flexibility is required to meet client needs, with occasional early starts, evening, weekend or overnight work.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

This role would particularly suit graduates in Sport and Exercise Science, Sports Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation, Health Sciences or similar degree disciplines who are looking to begin a rewarding career in Occupational Health.

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above), including English and Maths
  • A Levels (or equivalent qualifications)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Access to your own vehicle
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills and attention to detail
