Paediatric Community Care Assistant - Quintrell Downs, Newquay


Pay Rate:
£16.39 to £19.99 per hour


Part time / Night shifts:
Thursday and Sunday - 21:30 - 08:30

Your Role: Supporting Independence | Enriching Lives

We are recruiting experienced Healthcare Assistants to join our Children's Community Care team, supporting a young boy who lives with his family at home in Quintrell Downs.

A female carer is preferred but not essential.

We are looking for candidates with previous care experience who are confident working independently, reliable and flexible, with a full driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.

Your responsibilities:

  • Personal care and support: Assisting with daily routines to promote comfort and wellbeing
  • Companionship: Offering warmth, kindness and a friendly face
  • Promoting independence: Encouraging clients to live fulfilled lives with autonomy
  • Community access: Helping clients engage in their local community
  • Clinical tasks: Airway management, medication management, moving and handling, secretion management, gastrostomy management, basic overnight observations, epilepsy care, oxygen therapy (full training provided)
  • Shadowing will be completed with the NOK and staff member. Nurse led package will be signed off when appropriate.

What we’re looking for:

  • At least 6 months of paid professional care experience (or personal care experience in the UK)
  • Confidence supporting individuals with limited mobility (moving and handling)
  • Experience in carrying out clinical tasks is an advantage, however training will be provided
  • Experience in paediatrics is preferred but not essential
  • A willingness to complete training and competencies
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Registration with SSSC (applicants in Scotland) or SCW (applicants in Wales)
  • Ability to understand both verbal and written English to follow care plans and communicate effectively
