Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing for those in their care. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalised assistance and attentive care.

Duties

  • Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
  • Support clients with medication reminders and ensure their safety at all times
  • Help with meal preparation and feeding as required, respecting individual dietary needs
  • Maintain accurate care plans tailored to each client’s specific requirements
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ wellbeing
  • Assist with light domestic tasks to ensure a clean and comfortable environment
  • Document observations and report any changes in clients’ health or behaviour promptly
  • Support clients with outings or appointments, utilising driving skills where necessary
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care

Qualifications

  • Valid driving licence and the ability to drive clients safely when required
  • Experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable
  • Knowledge of developing and following care plans tailored to individual needs
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, for effective communication
  • Basic IT skills for documentation and reporting purposes
  • Excellent communication skills with a caring and empathetic approach towards clients
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
