Full job description

The Poundhill Medical Group Practice is a GP surgery with two sites, one in Pound Hill and one in Copthorne. We are a friendly team looking to add two part time receptionists to work across both sites.

Approx start date - End of July/Beginning of August

The receptionist role is one of the most important functions in the day to day running of the surgery. You are the first impression and set the tone for the experience a patient will have with us. Essentially your role is to help navigate a patient through their journey with kindness and care. The role involves liaising with patients over the phone and face to face, it involves helping patients with prescriptions and general enquiries in addition to providing admin support to the wider team. You will work closely with, and support, our multi-disciplinary team.

Job Overview:
We are currently seeking two dedicated Medical Receptionists to join our friendly team in providing an excellent service to our patients.. The ideal candidates will have strong organisational skills and a friendly demeanour to assist patients and medical staff effectively.

Receptionist responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Manage patient appointments, cancellations and reschedule efficiently
  • Maintain electronic medical records accurately and confidentially
  • Answer telephone calls, emails and inquires promptly
  • Handle patient queries and provide necessary information or assistance
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient services
  • Request prescriptions and handle prescription queries

Shift Pattern:

30 hours per week - 6 hours per day

Rota is given our four weeks in advance. Shifts are allocated at random.

  • Monday shifts are 7.30-13.30 or 14.00-20.00
  • Tues - Fri shifts are 7.30-13.30 or 13.30-18.30

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an office or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in using office software and electronic medical records systems
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.73 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
