Job Summary

Job Summary

We're looking for an energetic, friendly, and hands-on Shop Assistant to join our busy team. This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll be at the heart of the customer experience, helping shoppers find what they need, processing sales, keeping the shop looking its best, and supporting the smooth running of daily operations.

This is an active role that involves regular lifting, carrying, and moving stock, so you'll need to be comfortable with physical work and enjoy being on your feet throughout the day.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing a warm welcome and outstanding customer service to every visitor.
  • Building positive relationships with customers and offering product advice and recommendations.
  • Processing sales, payments, and customer orders accurately using our till and IT systems.
  • Receiving, unloading, moving, and replenishing stock throughout the shop.
  • Assisting customers with larger purchases and helping load items when required.
  • Maintaining attractive product displays and ensuring the shop is clean, organised, and well-presented.
  • Carrying out stock checks and supporting inventory management activities.
  • Completing administrative tasks including record keeping, data entry, and stock documentation.
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure a fun, efficient, and customer-focused environment.
  • Supporting the team during busy periods and getting involved wherever needed.

  • A friendly, outgoing personality with a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
  • Previous retail, sales, or customer-facing experience would be an advantage.
  • Good communication skills and confidence when interacting with customers.
  • Basic IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and capable of regularly lifting, carrying, and moving stock safely.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
