Job description

The Role

To provide primary support for the delivery of Transmission Line Tower Painting Projects. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager the Site Supervisor is responsible for the adequate supervision of projects of various sizes. This role requires the putting to work of operatives, resourcing and technical support for transmission projects.

This is a UK-wide role requiring regular travel across the country, including occasional overnight stays. All approved travel and accommodation expenses will be fully covered by the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise pylon painting and QA (rigging) teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of work.
  • Ensure compliance with H&S legislation, company policies, and client requirements, safety rules, and relevant legislation, including WAH, PPE, and CDM regulations.
  • Provide leadership, technical guidance, training, and competency support to the workforce.
  • Manage incident reporting, safe systems of work, site inspections, inductions, and toolbox talks.
  • Monitor work quality, maintain QA records, and ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Plan and coordinate work programmes, resources, materials, and equipment to maximise efficiency.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, landowners, and stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Produce progress reports, workforce documentation, and operational updates for management.
  • Oversee plant, vehicle, and equipment maintenance and compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement, cost-saving initiatives, and operational performance.

About You

  • Strong leadership and workforce management skills.
  • Sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation (CDM, WAH, PPE).
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience managing quality assurance and compliance processes.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop teams.
  • Strong reporting, record-keeping, and administrative skills.
  • Competence in resource, plant, and material management.
  • Commercial awareness with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Technical knowledge of overhead line tower painting / overhead line construction (highly desirable) or utilities, construction, industrial maintenance environments experience.
