The Globe, Somerton

Full Time

Looking for More Than Just a Bar Job?

We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable and customer-focused people to join our management team as Front of House Supervisors / Key Holders at The Globe, Somerton.

The Globe is a busy independent pub at the heart of the community, serving great food, quality drinks and hosting regular live music, events and family activities. As the business continues to grow, we’re looking for individuals who take pride in delivering outstanding hospitality and can help lead the team from the front.

This role is ideal for someone with hospitality experience who is ready to take the next step and gain valuable supervisory experience.

About the Role

As a Supervisor / Key Holder, you’ll be trusted to help run shifts, support the wider team and ensure every guest receives a fantastic experience.

No two days are the same. From busy Sunday roast services and live music events to summer days in one of Somerset’s best beer gardens, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day success of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Opening and closing the pub
  • Leading shifts and supporting team members
  • Delivering exceptional customer service
  • Serving drinks and food to a high standard
  • Handling cash and completing daily cash procedures
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
  • Supporting stock management and cellar operations
  • Assisting with staff training and development
  • Resolving customer issues professionally and confidently
  • Ensuring licensing laws and company policies are followed

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous hospitality, bar, restaurant or pub experience
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Reliable, trustworthy and organised
  • Comfortable taking responsibility and leading by example
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends

Supervisory experience is beneficial but not essential. The right attitude and willingness to learn are far more important.

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly rate
  • Equal share of tips
  • Staff meals whilst on shift
  • Employee discount scheme
  • Company pension
  • Free on-site parking
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Opportunities for progression into management roles
  • A supportive and friendly working environment

Why Work at The Globe?

We’re not a chain pub. We’re an independent business that values personality, hard work and great hospitality.

You’ll be joining a team that genuinely enjoys what they do, in a pub that’s continuing to invest, grow and build its reputation as one of Somerset’s leading community venues.

Whether it’s a packed Sunday lunch, a busy live music night, a family day in the beer garden or a major local event, you’ll be right at the centre of it.

If you’re passionate about hospitality and want to be part of something exciting, we’d love to hear from you.
